Frequently Asked Questions

What are film certificates?

U - It is impossible to predict what might upset any particular child. But a U film should be suitable for audiences aged four years and over.

PG - Parental Guidance - General viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children. Unaccompanied children of any age may watch.

12A - Suitable for 12 years and over. No-one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult.

15 - Suitable only for 15 years and over. No-one younger than 15 may see a 15 film in a cinema.

18 - Suitable only for 18 years and over. No-one younger than 18 may see a 18 film in a cinema.

Age ratings are a law here in the UK, and are non-negotiable. If someone doesn't look old enough to see a given film, ID will be required as proof of age.

Can I use my CEA card?

Yes, a CEA Card entitles the holder to one free ticket for their carer. For further information please visit www.ceacard.co.uk

What is a CEA Card and how do I get one?

The CEA card is a nationally recognised cinema card that entitles carers to enter for free. For further information including how to get one please visit www.ceacard.co.uk

Do you offer discounts for Blue Light Cards or Carers?

No. Unfortunately, we only accept the nationally recognised CEA Card (see the CEA card FAQ for more details). Sorry.

Are there disabled facilities?

The cinema is fully accessible for wheelchairs and wheelchair users.

Our screens are also equipped with audio head sets that are available from the box office for audio descriptive services and for the hard of hearing. Just ask one of our staff for more details.

Why can't I book the disabled seats online?

The disabled seats (Row A) are only available for purchase over the phone or in person. This is because they have more leg-room and a slightly better view of the screen (as well as much easier, clear access, of course), and non-disabled users would book them otherwise!

Do you have subtitled/captioned screenings?

Most of our films are available with WatchWord caption glasses.

These glasses are available from the box office or to book in advance, and they allow the user to access adjustable captions through the glasses for any screening, as long as captions are available for that particular film. Please get in touch to check if the particular film you are interested in has captions available and to reserve a pair of glasses.

What happened to your Parent and Baby Screenings?

We no longer offer dedicated Parent and Baby Screenings on a Wednesday morning. However, we do offer Family Shows (in which under 2's are allowed to attend, but it isn't mandatory to have a baby) for a large number of our morning weekend showings; check out our What's On page for more details on which films!

Remember, if you have a baby and are booking in advance, make sure to book a free "Babe in Arms" seat for your baby so that we know how many people are in the building! Thank you.

Under 2's are not allowed in normal film showings due to noise and disruption (we've got to think of everybody's satisfaction!).

What time do you open?

Our opening times vary during the week in concordance with local film release dates and times. That being said, we are usually open from 11am on Monday, Wednesday, and weekends; and from 4pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays!

Why does no one answer the phone?

We are sorry if you're call cannot always be taken. We are a small independent business with a limited number of staff. The chances are we are either busy serving customers/ cleaning in between shows, or that we're not open at the time of calling. Please bear with us!

Why can't I book a seat and leave a gap between me and somebody else?

The website defaults to not allowing people to leave odd seats; no one wants to sit next a stranger (usually), so we get it! However, by leaving odd seats we can fit far less people in any given screening, so not only will we lose revenue, but you may be stopping someone else from seeing a film!

If there's a particular reason you need a certain seat, you can always give us a call or book in person, we can be flexible!

Do you do refunds?

No.

However, we can swap your tickets for another available performance as long as it is bookable on our system; there is a £1 ticket exchange fee per ticket transferred.
